Attendance & Punctuality
Please arrive at your lesson on time – if you are late, your lesson may not be extended to make up time.
If a lesson time/ day needs to be changed (permanently or temporarily) I will do my best to accommodate your request. I do my best to maintain a flexible schedule!
If you need to cancel a lesson, please notify me by 9AM the morning of your lesson. If the student is sick and has a fever, please cancel your lesson to prevent spreading sickness throughout the studio. Lessons may be cancelled by the instructor, in which case students will be offered a make-up lesson. No shows and late cancellations will still be charged the full lesson price, due at the following lesson.
Tuition & Fees
Payment is due at your lesson. Please make checks payable to Alanna Mensing. Payments that are more than seven (7) days past due will incur a $10 late fee. Returned checks will incur a service charge of $30, and future tuition payments must be made by money order or cash.
A recital will be held each year to give students a chance to perform for their colleagues, families and friends. Participation in the recital is optional, but encouraged.
Practicing & Preparedness
Students should practice at least 2-3 hours per week (i.e. 30 minutes 4x/week). Students should come to their lessons prepared with the pieces, books, and/ or assignments that have been given.
Snow & Inclement Weather
If the roads are bad you may cancel your lesson. If I am traveling to your house and the roads are bad, I may cancel or reschedule your lesson.
Music & Other Materials
Books will be purchased by the instructor and billed at the next lesson. Materials used in lessons will vary due to skill level and student interest.
If you refer a new student, you are eligible for a free lesson! After the new student has completed and paid for a third lesson, you will get a lesson for free!
